Invariably, after munching for a while, one of the squirrels will start burying kernels around the yard. Most sprouts get mowed down. I discovered this stalk growing in a corner by the garage where I don't try to mow. and let it grow to see what developed. Although the stalk is weak, it now has a developing ear near the base. I thought that the squirrels that buried the kernels were just dumb, but maybe this guy was looking out for the Winter. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Corn+1.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Corn+2.jpg.html Comments and critiques welcomed.
