I do use the 100mm APO with my NIkon digital bodies, because for macro, I can easily do without most of the functions because it is perched on a big tripod, and I am typically taking exposures in multiples of seconds. After all, most combinations of body/lens have advantages and a use, and I wanted to understand what it was here from Dave. "Because it is there" is only good for the Mallorys and Irvings, I am afraid.
