One of my beefs with the LX3 is that as you work the zoom, there is no indicator in the scale to show relative FL - you have to play with it and get the screen to match what you see in the VF, and then you'd have to maybe make a mark the screen somehow (along the zoom slider) to be able to go back to that FL when you want. This is something that I've seen others describe as a desirable firmware fix - a way to revert to a custom preset FL. ----- Original Message ---- From: Victor Rubin <vroger at gmail.com> To: lug <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Saturday, July 4, 2009 9:15:16 AM Subject: [Leica] LX3 Question Hi All: When I was at the NY LUG meeting Rei showed me his DLux 4. When I used it at the camera shop I found the focus much too slow. Rei, however, showed me a switch on the digicam which has to be taken off a "macro" setting and the focus time improves radically. Using an accessory v/f the digicam becomes usable for street photography. My question: Is there a similar switch on the LX3 Lumix? It doesn't apppear on the pictures shown on DP review, Also, can either digicam be locked at a "custom" adjustment at "50" mm, so that one could use a 50mm finder as standard?? Please let me know and have a wonderful 4th of July.Bests: Vroger _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
