With my Canon DSLR's, I don't absolutely have to capture sharpen, probably, but a little bit applied in ACR seems to help. At 100% it is easy to see when it's overdone, which is pretty quickly. I do think "output" sharpening is beneficial to avoid the losses caused by the inkjet heads or the press, regardless of the source. I do think the (even sharpened) digital images are more natural than the images from using unsharp masking in the wet darkroom. Just my opinion.
