The quarter cask is also very nice, but I think I still prefer the 10yo. I also have a bottle of 'Old Malt Cask' 18yo on hand that I haven't cracked. Lagavulin 16yo is the pinnacle, as far as I'm concerned, at least as far as Islay bottlings are concerned. And Islay whiskies are my favourites. The 12yo cask strength, as well as the older ones I've tried don't measure up. Caol Ila is one I usually pass on, no matter which bottling. I like Talisker 17yo quite a bit, with Ardbegs further on down. I've had a couple of Port Ellens, but they seem to go up in price exponentially now, and I'm unlikely to get another. They were quite nice, but not up to Laphroaig or Lagavulin. End of the month we're going to Edmonton for a couple of days, and since the prices there are in the 60-70% range of what they are here, I'll probably come back with something new (plus a Lagavulin).
