Y'know... I think that anything that lets you shoot the picture  
that's about to disappear forever and then fix a few things after the  
fact to an acceptable level is really a good thing. (I think the  
second one is better for me, although the saturation is a bit over  
the top on my monitor.)

Yesterday I was on a (very long) recording session and we were  
discussing a similar issue regarding digital audio editing tools.   
Really, having a little bit of a net allows players to play more  
spontaneously instead of playing too safe.
You can get a really visceral performance and fix a note or two that  
might cause some wincing down the road.

Actually, I'm having a bit of a bokeh issue at the moment; more about  
that in a follow-up posting.
