Actually, our LUG book donation is off by about $100 from last year's tally, mainly due to lower sales. More participants (creating a somewhat more a expensive) book, plus the plunging economy, are certainly factors. Incidentally, if anyone is so inclined to donate to Project H.O.M.E. on their own, the website is http://www.projecthome.org/ Jim Shulman Wynnewood, PA -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+jshul=comcast.net at leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+jshul=comcast.net at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Ken Carney Sent: Friday, March 20, 2009 8:51 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: Re: [Leica] 2008 LUG Yearbook Donation to Project H.O.M.E. Jim, That's great and muchly appreciated. Most of our charitable budget is for organizations like this. The success rates (GED's, jobs, etc.) are slim given the population - a lot of addiction, mentally ill etc. -- but there _are_ successes, plus some relief for others. Now if we could get Ted to give a motivational speech to get others off their butts and buy another 200-300 yearbooks. Ted?
