Technically, the difference in an F1.4 and an F1.2 lens is only a 1/3 stop. The Nocti is 1 stop faster, and that is a significant difference in low light ( read that as 1 full higher shutter speed). But maybe, just selling off your present CV 35 lens and buying another CV 35 would make you as happy and secure in your equipment as a Pro must have. I just do not believe in owning equipment that one is hesitant on the reliability of.... especially if you are a traveling type,,,,,, Frank Filippone red735i at earthlink.net -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+red735i=earthlink.net at leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+red735i=earthlink.net at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Tina Manley Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 6:03 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Nokton 35/1.2 Lens, loose screws At 08:39 PM 3/16/2009, you wrote: >I Get a 35 ASPH Lux and never look back...... or a 35 pre-ASPH Lux and enjoy >the Bokeh.......for 1/3 of a stop, why hesitate? > >Frank Filippone I know. I have the 35/1.4 and it was my most used lens before I got the CV 35/1.2, but I really, really missed my Noctilux. That was my most used lens with film. I was hoping to find something close. That .2 doesn't seem like it would make a difference, but it does! I would like a 1.0 even more!! I think I'll go back to some more testing :-( Tina _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
