I agree entirely. french girl near blackboard illustrates exactly what it is that appeals to us who like the imagery of older Leitz lenses. My comment wasn't to suggest that I wanted more contrast, not an 'instead of' - rather that I would like to have seen the same image exposed at a middle aperture to illustrate the fact that the lenses of the '50's and 60's have extremely goiod contrast at the middle apretures. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Barbour" <kididdoc@cox.net> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug@leica-users.org> Sent: Friday, January 09, 2009 7:36 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] French girl near a blackboard... > > On Jan 9, 2009, at 11:45 AM, Alan Magayne-Roshak wrote: > >> On Fri, 9 Jan 2009 "Seth Rosner" <sethrosner@nycap.rr.com>wrote >>> ----- Original Message ----- >>>> From: "Steve Barbour" <kididdoc@cox.net> >>>> in an old school... >>>> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/barbour/PAW+2009/domi.jpg.html >>>> M8 Summicron 50/2 DR (mod'd) at f2... >> >>> Steve, I would love to have seen French [woman] near blackboard >>> shot at >>> f/5,6, if possible.
