Duesenbergs had the four external pipes signifying a supercharged engine on the right side of the engine, Auburns on the left side. I believe this is a 1930's-era short-wheelbase Auburn, probably model 851 (they made many with very long wheelbases). Being a 4-door convertible phaeton, it would have a custom coach-built body. The suicide front doors are another detail give-away. Though the photo image is fuzzy, the shape of the radiator and the vague image of the radiator mascot is consistent with its being an Auburn. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry Lehrer" <glehrer@san.rr.com> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug@leica-users.org> Sent: Saturday, January 03, 2009 6:21 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] Mark 's opinion on NY Times Auto Pic > Seth, > > Actually, I cannot.
