Since no perfect lens has ever been designed, that is, as Erwin has frequently pointed out, every lens is a compromise, correcting these aberrations while sacrificing those, designed to achieve the best performance for particular use or circumstance. That said, the short answer is that if you do not need the additional stop of speed, in my opinion the Macro-Elmarit is the winner.
