Lew, I would think because the 24 is thought to be a better general purpose 
wide on the M8. I agree that a 28 'Lux would be yummy as well but we do have 
a 'cron already as you know so you already have f/2 vs. f/2.8 for the 
existing 24. I'm finding the Summicron 28 to be superb on the M8, about how 
I'd use a 35 on the M7 btw.
