I know of no one from the western US who will voluntarily turn their guns in. They consider the ownership of guns as a basic right. I myself do not any weapons other than a fly rod or two. As I believe the reason for the "everyone has the right to bare whatever" evolved due to the imminent attack by the English some where around 1776? Or close to that? So the Good Fore Fathers thought it a fine idea for the population to "bare arms!" If only that was what they meant, it would've been great today! :-) But they meant guns!!! Like I said, if maybe the population were informed by CNN or FOX NEWS aaaaaaaaaackkkkkkkk that the English called off the re-claiming attack everyone might put their "weapons" in for re-cycle to plow shares! Seems a fair enough reason. ted -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Ken Carney Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2008 5:16 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: RE: [Leica] Gun Photos > I haven't seen a firearms magazine for a number of years, but I do recall > a > very high standard of photos by one particular photographer. Yep, photographer for "The American Rifleman" and others. In the day he used an 8x10 Deardorf. A master of product photography, I would say. I recall his work since my 16th birthday present was a life membership in the NRA. Our Constitution is a masterpiece, and the founding fathers were without doubt geniuses. But, if I had a time machine, I would go back and ask two questions: (1) Do we really need that part about a well-regulated militia? And (2) I still think we need something in case a moron gets elected President (the latter courtesy of the New Yorker). Ken _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
