Adam, TinyURL has a preview feature that you can enable if you wish.
When you click on a TinyURL, you get the link (where it redirects to)
displayed and an option to proceed to that site.
Go to TinyURL.com and enable. You need cookies enabled in your browser.
Of course that is no substitute for making an assessment for yourself. You
get to know the people that use the TinyURL option.
I always post both original and TinyURL, placing the original in < >. For
some reason that link is often duplicated. Also in some peoples browsers,
those < > original links don't work, also something I don't understand!
Naturally, having the original above a TinyURL doesn't guarantee that they
are related. I guess you mean you never go to TinyURLs? The preview should
help then.

In the future could you please provide the full URL in addition to the
tinyurl?

If someone has a good utility to translate tinyurl's without first opening
the web site I'd appreciate the pointer.

Thanks

adam
