An ill child under great medical care. Sure beats the hell out of kids in Iraq, Haiti, Somalia and all the other countries where we see them dying of starvation, diseases and war almost every day. Some of the problems we hear of but rarely see, are covered by all kinds of warnings, "This picture may offend, use discretion when viewing!" Screw them, stick it right in their face as real, as real as it can be! Then maybe, just maybe, some of the killing, wars, famines and other inhumanity man unto man. Might come to an end. Hell if we used real pictures up tight and in the face of viewers where a child with their head & face half blown away, soldiers with their guts hanging out and covered in blood. yet still alive! It might make a difference in how some peoples of the world think about caring for others. It's a lot of this molly coddling censorship of pictures "not to offend" anyone, that quite frankly is pure political bull shit that allows it to happen! It allows governments to get away with some of the atrocities occurring about the world. Don't back away from using this picture simply because it's KISS beautiful with it's in your face message of care and concern. These stupid TV "reality programmes" could use some of your " honest reality photographs" and do some good in the world. Instead of creating dumb ass idiots running about to entertain similar like brainless morons who watch this crap. OOPS!!!!! A slight slip into rant mode! :-) Sorry. Steve you have a winner without question, let's hope the judges aren't hopeless wimps afraid to show the real world what caring for real children is all about! ted On Oct 16, 2008, at 8:49 AM, Ted Grant wrote: > Steve Barbour offered: > >>> our hospital will enter this photo in the competition of the >>> National > Association of Childrens' Hospitals... > >> I am pleased with their decision,<<<<<<<, > > > > Good on you Steve, > > Best of luck!
