Mine is in Solms getting the 6 bit treatment currently. I like it very much. The new Elmarit is also very well reported. Look at what Lluis does with his. However it is a stop slower of course. If you already have the Summicron I recommend that you don't part with it. <http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/image/92958184> <http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/image/93410601> On the M8, it assumes the role of a 35 on a film M. That makes it an extremely useful and high performance lens. <http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/image/102924810> <http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/image/101181272> Let me know if you'd like a big file. I agree with those opinions rating this lens with the 90AA & 50 1.4 asph. On the M8, I'd add the 75AA to that list. Cheers Geoff Aber Masse kann Klasse nicht ersetzen....Aber die R10 kommt. http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/e http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/ -----Original Message----- Subject: [Leica] The 28mm f/2 Summicron ASPH ??? I was reading over some threads on the 28mm f2 ASPH. It sounds like a pretty good lens, one of Leica's legendary performers, like the 90AA and 50/1.4 ASPH. Is that so? I bought it because it had a good crop-factor for the M8, and was thinking of selling it since the M8 is gone to its new owner. Maybe I'll keep the 28 ASPH and shoot with it a bit. ...Vick _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
