I had to use the high ASA because of how dark it was and I wanted to get good depth of field while being able to hand hold the shot. At ASA 400 I would have had to use f2.8 which was very little DOF for this very close up photo. As it was I was lucky to hand hold at 1/125 with a 180mm lens on an extension tube.
