Absolutely!!  I do the same.  All of my clothes, books, lamps and 
most of my furniture came from Goodwill.  We have no heat or air 
conditioning at the farm.  We grow almost all of our own food and I 
can, freeze and dry it to use all year.  I don't get my hair done or 
use any make-up.  We're just Old Hippies and we like to spend our 
money on things that matter.
