I found that the blacks were still not up to the task and it lacked the sweet tone of slides - a friend of mine had brought one of his slide pro pradovits along and we could compare a slide with an excellent file of the same subject. I hope the D1200 will fare better than what we saw. The only good point is that I had brought a couple of files taken with the L1, and I found that its 7.5 Mpixels were enough for an acceptable 3m x 1.5m projection, which I had never expected. It fared as well if not better than files from a 10 Mp D200 and pro lenses. Who would have thought? My friend was disappointed when the sellers/technicians saw mine and said WOW, that's quality, what's the gear? But I'm neither ready for a "cheap" one, nor in a financial position to spend 14K on a DPrado 1200 - tough! Oh yes, disappointment also in the fact that shots taken vertical leave huge white bands on the sides that affect viewing to a painful degree.
