Helen and I were invited to lunch at Vue De Monde in Melbourne to celebrate the Dior/Leica photographic competition. The bonus as some of you know is that I won, and so there was a wonderful presentation of an engraved Leica Black M8, complete with "filterless" 35mm Summarit. Dior was host, and we were entertained by Mette, Kate and Isabelle, who hail from Denmark, Queensland and France. Leica were represented by the local dealers here in Australia by Brian the CEO and Carl (who knows me well!!!) The "team" made it feel very special. I was very honored and a bit embarrassed, but it was great fun and the conversation was lively and never slowed. The food was great and combined with fine French wine it was a "long" lunch to remember. In addition, Dior threw in perfume for Helen and samples of the Fahrenheit range for me. Adeal threw in Leica badges. I took some images with the new camera, and you can soon see whose black outfit is synthetic. I think the girls will prefer the images Helen made with Olympus :-( Purple is NOT the new black. However, seems with the new camera, I get 2 more filters, so one will have to be E39!!! Wonderful event, lots of fun. I recommend winning a Dior Leica competition if you get the chance ;-) Cheers to all Alastair _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
