But...I must say that I do not see any redeeming value in that old lens. I know that you like to shoot with classical equipment, but I am convinced that these pictures would have been better if you had shot them with a modern lens, whether one of Leica's or Cosina/Voigtlander 28mm. Yes, the old masters of photography shot with this kind of lens-- because that was all that was available to them. If HCB could have had modern Leica glass back in the 1930s, I am sure he would have used it. Just as Ansel Adams, in his auto-biography, talks about the beginning of digital and looks forward to its development (which he sadly did not live to see). To me, the Hektor does not lend any charm to the image. All it does is to add some flare.
