Geoff & George,

Thanks for your feedback.  I just searched for the file in question, and 
can't find it, or, at least, didn't recognize it as the one in question.  I 
suspect that George is closest to the answer.  I suspect that I saved the 
file with the same name as the original file, hence, it replaced the 
original.

At least, the experience taught me to be careful with RAW files that I want 
to keep intact for future consideration.
