Both cameras: same tripod in same position, manual focus, manual exposure, 5000K, iso 100, mirror lockup. While differences may appear subtle to some. I perceive a definite increase in fine detail and "sense" of reality in the DMR files. On screen there's also perceptible matrix pattern at 100% in the 5D file, which does not exist in the DMR file. YMMV As always - interested in your perceptions Fond regards, George george@imagist.com http://www.imagist.com http://www.imagist.com/blog http://www.linkedin.com/in/imagist On Jul 24, 2008, at 1:35 AM, Nathan Wajsman wrote: > But then I wonder how much of that difference is due to the > difference in sensor/software configurations (an area in which > Leica has no particular competitive advantage) vs. difference in > lens quality between the Leica M and Canon lenses (an area in which > Leica is the acknowledged world leader). >
