My first experience with central Australia was in 1967. Tourism in central Australia has changed the entire nature of a visit, but the landscape itself has not changed. The one major difference that I did notice was the lack of wildlife around the rock. It seems that tourism has led to a degree of mismanagement of the landscape. Hopefully this will be corrected in the next few years as better development plans for the area are put in place.
