I like your second one. The first is largely stricking because Dali is striking. I find the girls back on the left obsuring the oncoming person annoying, and as a study of the "crowd" it misses IMHO, but you have nailed the moment on the second image 3. I'm always careful when I shoot art. I try to remind myself that unless I do something pretty unusual, I'm often using the art in the work to make the art in my image. Its an issue I confront myself with from time to time, but it never stops me making images of statues etc. Cheers and thanks for sharing Alastair --- vroger@gmail.com wrote: From: "Victor Rubin" <vroger@gmail.com> To: lug <lug@leica-users.org> Subject: [Leica] I CAN'T BELIEVE IT- BUT I AM REGRESSING!! Date: Sun, 6 Jul 2008 19:42:30 -0400 Hi All: As I noted the other day, I have begun a partial transition back to film. Not for everything, mind you, but I am really enjoying the M again. After having used myriad digitals, I am now scanning my negatives and suddenly find myself "spotting" prints the way I used to under the enlarger. Time to use the old nose grease again! I enclose some photos (not images) with which I have been playing. I wonder if my transition (back) wasn't hastened by seeing a young lady at a street fair who was carrying an M8. I suddenly felt the old pull- and off I went.
