Tina-

Glad you're all right.  As unsightly/sore as the bruising is (and a  
much more qualified member, a physician, has already weighed in on  
that score), something needs to be said about the M8, this being the  
LUG and all.

I don't have an M8, and probably will never afford such a tool in my  
lifetime, but after all the grief the M8 has received, how many clad- 
in-the-finest-cheap-Red-Chinese-plastic-obsolete-three-months-after- 
release-DSLRs could have stayed working after a similar incident? I  
think it says a lot...that a Leica is still a Leica. The counsel for  
Leica's ad agency would add the fine print: "Professional  
photographer. Do not attempt."

FWIW: I'd be courting with cardiac arrest if something similar had  
happened to one of my AARP Card carrying DS M3s. :P
