Of course, then buying the book to see your own photographs in the company of some wonderful photographers' work. Two volumes so far is a great start. I've got my two pictures selected to send to Jim already. Now let me float another idea here. I realise that the LUG has long been non-exclusively Leica but there is a cadre of Leica enthusiasts. Is there any interest in also putting together another Blurb book containing exclusively Leica work? I mean using a Leica body and glass exclusively or alternatively either. If anyone is interested in taking part, I would be happy to be the coordinator for this. Not to take away from the established and popular yearbook, just another idea. If there is some interest then I would be happy to coordinate the book. It might prove to be a very modest book or grow larger. My initial thoughts are that we could consider themes (one or more), or free choice and any agreed Leica equipment requirement. I would be aiming for the best practice regarding colour/bw reproduction/ sharpening sizing/resolution etc. Expressions of interest/suggestions to me on or off list???? The series makes a wonderful keepsake and Jim is to be congratulated on running it for the third year. Date: Tue, 1 Jul 2008 09:22:33 -0400 With all the sunshine and long days, this is an ideal time for creating LUG Yearbook Images (if you're in the northern hemisphere, that is. Those below the equator may need to open up a few stops, or increase the ISO rating on their digicams.) Yearbook rules will remain exactly the same: 1. Use of any camera is fine. You can even call it a Leica. 2. Up to two images submitted, at least 1meg file size .jpg format. 3. Submissions BEGIN in December 2008. Please, send nothing before then! 4. Title, brief tech description for each picture. 5. Anyone can submit images. 6. Book closes on December 31, 2008 and will be made available for purchase on January 1. 7. No need to be shy about entries. Many of the new entrants submitted material that was at least as impressive as that from grizzled veterans. Last year some LUG digest folks asked me for a special heads-up. I'm now making the periodic alerts boldface for LUG digest. So get out there and start shooting. We had over 112 participants last year!
