I do a lot of photography in places where I wear my hard had and 
steel toed boots, but I've never found a good fitting version of 
either for my cameras.

So far the camera equipment hasn't suffered, but I've come darn close 
to having various bits fall out of planes and helicopters. A close 
one was when my CamboWide fell off the helicopter bench (it didn't 
get hurt from that; I was more worried about a dent in the 
helicopter) and started sliding to the open door. As the camera 
doesn't have a strap, I managed to grab the screw-in cable release 
and catch it. I'd hate the idea of wandering around the construction 
site looking for a worker who'd been felled by that camera.

That's a camera that makes a Canon 1D look fragile.
