(a star rating in PS Elements), then select on the basis of the rating to gather, show and delete only the files you wish to delete. I don't think you can automate it across file types though. You could try a little free download called AntiTwin - it automatically searches your directories for duplicate files and you can set it to find file numbers while ignoring the file type. It also shows a thumbnail of the file you select for deletion. It is an absolute godsend for Lightroom Users who have inadvertently made several copies of their files in different locations (like I did until I more or less got the hang of LR) Unfortunately it can also be a very dangerous program if you let it search your whole machine - so be careful just what settings you use.
