A complete personal identity mistake on my part, therefore I ask your forgiveness to my hot headed remarks. It's not my way to deal with anyone. I can only offer as a weak excuse this Orphan bill has completely riled me no end like any other government intrusion on our picture protection rights. As a Canadian photographer I'd normally never make a comment on something involving the USA government. However, in this case it's a bill that will affect every photographer in the world these days due to use of the internet and future transmission abilities. Besides the organizing groups to write letters or send e-mails are American photo groups urging photographers around the world to submit their concerns. It was this concern by your fellow countrymen pressuring us foreigners to respond, I felt it responsible to alert members of the LUG who post their pictures. ERGO: my error in response to what I took as your somewhat off handed comment about chickens. My error completely and I sincerely apologize for my brash comment. ted -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Jerry Lehrer Sent: Sunday, May 11, 2008 4:08 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Orphan Works - . A MUST READ EVERYONE! :-( DON'T CRYLATER!YOU WERE WARNED!!! Ted, WTF makes you think that I have ever posted pictures on the internet? As I have oft said, I HAVE NO DIGITAL PHOTO CAPABILITIES OR ABILITY. I did once try to get a digital photo of a kitten shown on the LUG, but I was severely castigated for even trying. My daughter took the picture with her digital Leica. In fact, it was at the LHSA shoot in Victoria that she first saw that camera and had to have it. You were there. Tina has graciously referred me to several sources on the bill. She did not threaten to kick my ass, even though she is coming to California in a short while. I have e-mailed my Congress people to help your kind. Marc Small is going the other way because he got no satisfaction with the previous laws.
