Indeed a very nice shot - love those old Takumars - I often use the 
135/2.5 - quite compact in comparison with the Zeiss Tessar 135/2.8 and 
the Leica Elmarit-R, and quite a bit lighter too.

To me, the beak looks a bit strange for a Finch, more like an omnivorous 
or an insect eating bird, but it may be the angle it's taken from.

Here's a Greenfinch (Carduelis Chloris?) on the cherry tree in our back 
garden in Germany

You can see the typical seed eater's beak in these shots.

As Matthew wrote, the Goldfinches over here are different - the European 
Goldfinches I've seen are relatively small (and very pretty) birds 
(smaller than a house sparrow) and have a red-white-black banded head, a 
mainly buff and white body, and wings with bars in black and yellow
