My usual need is to have both a Mac program and a PC program open to shove a bit of data around. I have Parallels, my son has both Parallels and VMWare for his consulting work. Both have subtle idiotsyncracies in his opinion but both "just work". Can't answer your question about Boot Camp though since I never use it. VMWare might have better support - his Parallels experience has been unhappy in the past month or so.
