I shot 75 photos and even did some chimping with a fully charged battery on Saturday. The battery indicator showed full charge when I started and it still shows full charge. I have not seen the SD card error you describe but I use the reasonably priced 150X Transcend cards which give me better performance then Sandisk, which have failed for me in both the M8 and my EOS 1DS Mk II.
