Select this item and the camera throws itself into the grass and commando crawls up to the subject and captures the perfect wildlife image from really really close. This mode may be dangerous to engage at the beach. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Douglas Herr Sent: Sunday, 11 November 2007 14:35 To: Leica Users Group Subject: RE: [Leica] Canon G9 or Leica M8? Now that face-recognition software is being incorporated into cameras, how long will it be before cameras have subject-detection radar with automatic tracking drives and zooming for optimum image size? I can see the new menu choices: for subject: ) sunset ) football (submenu: the ball, team color, angry coach, referree) ) race car (submenu: color choice, crashing sounds) ) animal (submenu: predator w/ big fangs, kitten, hyperactive bird... ) ) political demonstrations (submenu: cops, rock-throwing demonstrators... ) ) flames for composition: ) format (submenu: horizontal, vertical, auto) ) rule-of-thirds ) trees/poles growing out of heads (submenu: yes, no, doesn't matter) ) horizon levelling ) space for subject to move in to ) eye contact (submenu: yes, no, doesn't matter) ) Eggleston ) Adams (submenu: Ansel, Eddie... ) Somewhere buried in the menu tree will be a Manual choice, but to select this option the user will be asked to confirm that s/he really really wants to ignore all the pre-programmed perfection the camera has to offer.
