Seriously though, I have no idea about collector values. I suspect that it would need to be validated in some way as an authentic signature to appeal to a collector for value?? Did anyone get a picture of the signing? Ultimately, while it is the signature of a Magnum agency photographer, it is not his personal camera for example. I suspect that you might just have a nice memento there to keep shooting with and bring along when you meet any fellow Leica shooters. Perhaps it might be a good idea to also ask the folks on the Leica collector's page of the Leica forum? Good luck. Maybe you have a good deposit there for another M6 to use and an M8 ;-) Cheers Hoppy -----Original Message----- Subject: [Leica] I now own a Martin Parr M6TTL!!! What do I do? On Wednesday evening, I went to a free lecture at my local university in Cheltenham. Martin Parr, the Magnum photographer, came to give an open lecture to the students on the local photography course. He lives only 40 miles away in Bristol. The public, like me, were free to come. It was a very enjoyable lecture, and I learnt a lot about why he does things in his unique way. After the talk, various students asked him for his autograph. I merely said hello and went next door to an art exhibitilon (a prestigious UK open student drawing prize) and wandered around with a glass of red wine and my M6TTL, taking a few snaps. As Martin Parr left, I wondered if I had anything he could autograph. I looked at the top plate of my chrome M6TTL and thought that Leica had conveniently left this blank ready for this moment. So out with my Sharpie and moments later, hey presto! Now I'm not sure what to do. Do I sell my camera to someone with silly money? Do I have it etched and keep it? Shall I just retire it with the pen signature? If I were just an autograph hunter, it might have been up for sale already, but sadly I'm not. thanks for your thoughts Charlie PS Here it is!
