You are right, I see - fortunately - that it seems that years affect more the film (or certain films) than us! Saludos cordiales Luis -----Mensaje original----- De: lug-bounces+luisripoll=telefonica.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+luisripoll=telefonica.net@leica-users.org] En nombre de Jim Nichols Enviado el: domingo, 15 de julio de 2007 4:19 Para: Leica Users Group Asunto: Re: [Leica] IMG: From the Cigar Box- A Dog's Life in 1954 Luis, Thanks for looking and for your constructive comments. I suspect that the haze is from both the film and the age of the negative. It was shot on bulk Kodak movie stock, which we bought in 100-ft rolls. The negatives I am working with at the moment have been sitting for over 50 years, and, in some cases, I am seeing strange spots that can probably be attributed to my poor processing techniques at the time. The link below is to a Kodachrome image taken with the same camera and lens, and it is remarkably sharp. It is also over 50 years old. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Cigar+Box/Donna02sm+53.jpg.html Jim Nichols Tullahoma, TN USA ----- Original Message ----- From: "Luis Ripoll" <luisripoll@telefonica.net> To: "'Leica Users Group'" <lug@leica-users.org> Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2007 4:03 PM Subject: RE: [Leica] IMG: From the Cigar Box- A Dog's Life in 1954 > Hi Jim, > > I like this picture, but I find a certain haze that seems IMO not proper > for > a coated Elmar, I have the nickel Elmar 5cm f 3,5, I think is uncoated and > I > don't remember that it produces this effect, except if the light > conditions > are on a very strong light conditions, i.e., this one was maybe on similar > light conditions and shows more contrast.
