I must get across to the Leica Forum and read up. I wonder if there is some production issue such as a design fault that has emerged or perhaps a glass shortage? Zeiss recently had delays involving a complete redesign on one of their M lens designs. Some reviewers have commented regarding apparent assembly differences compared to earlier (and much more expensive) designs. Are these lenses made in Solms? By all accounts they have been a huge success and deservedly so from the Erwin Puts review.
