Hi Luis,
I DO want to compare these viewfinders. This is not a prelude to
slagging off the Olympus if it isn't as good, I don't expect it to
be. I am simply asking the question "how does it compare".
I can see how viewfinder image size is related to format (hence
focussing screen) size, and logically a larger, more magnified,
viewfinder image from a small starting point, such as a 4/3 focussing
screen which is about 1/4 the area of a 35mm one, will be dimmer than
a less magnified one but surely the amount of light entering is more
related to lens speed and optical losses and screen than just format
size? My Rollei 6008i has a very big view, due to the format size,
but the brightness has been most effected by the screens I have
tried, a Maxwell and two different Rollei screens which gave a very
significant difference in vf brightness.
I don't expect the vf to be brilliant, as I wrote in my question,
what I would like to know from an expert like Nathan is how far from
the Canon - which I know well - is it?
