With my faded Ektachrome slides from 1955, I found that it was ok to select "restore fading", but if I combined "restore fading" and "restore colors", the color correction seemed to override the fading correction. I scanned a number of slides with "restore fading" selected, and, in most cases, got acceptable results. However, with a couple of slides, I could never get rid of the red cast. I tried a number of things, but the software seems to have a mind of its own. If you discover a way to force our own choices on the software, please let me know. I feel it was a worthwhile investment for special cases where the Minolta software comes up short, but I really prefer the Minolta software for general use.
