I've never seen a sign, but have been asked to cease. Once was in a Brookshires here in Natchitoches. After I had explained that I was shooting for an educational program, they allowed it. In a Whole Food Market in New Orleans, I was told no photography (I was shooting a shot of my wife, not of the store) I tthink though, if you chat up the manager, and explain what you want to do, it probably can be done anywhere. Interesting, I have never been stopped in our Walmart, and I've shot candids several times inside and out.
