Benjamin,
You can also use a Nikon AS-15 which works like a safe-synch in that it
turns a hot shoe into a PC outlet.  It is fused so your camera will not
fry.  Generally runs under $20 where the SafeSynch is twice that.  Pocket
Wizards are very good but you will spend hundreds on a system.
