When I was medically retired from the Army in 2000, I became the Sr. Chaplain at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch - located on the site of the ghost town, Tascosa. If you shot this in '62, you are very familiar with Cal Farley's and probably with the old man himself. If you were a newspaperman in Amarillo, you surely knew of Cal. I don't know if his radio show was still on in the 60's or not. This school house now sits 30 yards behind my former abode (they've moved it from its original site, where you took this image in '62), directly behind the Chapel - neither of which would have been there when you were around, if this picture represents the last time you were in Tascosa, now simply called Boys Ranch (and officially by the USPS). Suffice to day the schoolhouse now resides approximately 150 yards NNE of the old courthouse. I'm amazed at the amount of interconnectedness of these shots and my own - although these prints of yours are by far the better - and of the apparent interconnectedness of our experiences and interests, albeit 35 years separates them. Please keep showing these Bill. These images from the past are the way I see my native countryside when I look out upon it today. Sometimes I wish it still looked like your photos instead of what I more frequently see in mine.
