My example is pretty good wide open especially compared to the 1.5 Sonnar, the original 1.5 Nokton, and the 1.4 Nikkor. A little more flare than the sonnar design but a flatter field and sharper in the corners wide open. What I like about it is the wonderful OOF when wide open on near so; the closest to it is the Zeiss 75 Biotar. No, it is not in the same class as the 50 Summicron DR and beyond or the current Summilux but it has a very nice rendition that is very appropriate for some subjects where clinical sharpness would detract. I will try to shoot some with it this week and post as part of the PAW so there is visual as well as verbal.
