I think that your point on the reproduction on the small laptop screen is very valid. The pics we share here are inferior to a good print in your hand, though, as we all appreciate. Just on screen though, you can certainly see quality and characteristic differences on a good, calibrated big screen. Especially where the digital file is of a reasonable size and quality. Certainly different renderings of the dreaded bokeh are apparent. I'm lucky enough to be working here with a decent widescreen that is 24 inches diagonally. You can actually use it as a very decent substitutes for projection, for example. Good - but hardly any differences that can be ascribed to lenses. With the exception of the 21 mm Elmarit picture, all could be taken with a normal lens on almost any quality 35mm camera, even my Rollei 35. The composition and catching the decisive moment aspects of Luis' photography are up to their usual excellent standard but viewing the pictures on a 12" screen leads me to wonder if Leica glass is really worth the bother for internet presentation. Or is it my eyes and judgment?
