Lovely minimalist composition and expression/pose as well. Cheers Hoppy -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Adam Bridge Sent: Wednesday, 7 February 2007 02:40 To: Leica Users Group Subject: [Leica] IMG: Dinner portrait and a horror... This weekend we were in balmy Minneapolis (well, we were the ones who were balmy for actually GOING there when it was below zero the entire time) for a Tai Chi demonstration after which we went out to celebrate Chinese New Year. The lighting was a challenge. These images were made at the M8's ISO 1250 setting and with the Noctilux wide open. It was darn dim in that restaurant! We joined Jane and her husband Rick at table. <http://www.idea-processing.com/Images/Jane.jpg> The softness seems to work for this portrait. I did the conversion to B&W using CS3's black and white function which I like very much. One of the dishes presented, to the horror of the vegetarians I'm certain judging from the table behind Jane where small gasps were heard, was a fried walleye. My daughter leaned over and said, in her best "Silence of the Lambs" voice: "Hello, Clarice" <http://www.idea-processing.com/Images/L1000571_1.jpg> Comments and thoughts are welcome and invited.
