The problem was dislodging bubbles on the film. A nice sharp rap on the counter (covered with a towel) dislodges tiny air bubbles from film in stainless steel tanks. When I try the same with Paterson tanks, they break. In addition Hewes, I still have Nikor reels made long ago. they are equally easy to use, but the Hewes reels are heavier gauge steel and hold more film. Hewes is the best. Cheaper reels often don't contain all the film and become bent more easily. Jesse _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
