Charging batteries may be a problem, but there are backpacks with solar cells that can keep your batteries topped up should you go digital. Weather is an issue especially with digital cameras as well. Romantic: take b/w film only, travel with a mechanical Leica and one back up perhaps 2 lenes. You will probably take better images with less equipment and choices. Practical: take digital only. Have a small camera like the Ricoh which is weather proof, a smallish DSLR with good battery life and 2 zooms, 2 iPods or other small storage devices. Go crazy My likely choice: take too much, try too hard, carry a DSLR, spare back and 5 lenses, carry a 17" laptop with solar recharger, have a b/ w film camera in medium format. Carry a tripod filters and different films and then grossly underuse them ;-) Good luck On 09/01/2007, at 12:59, Nelson Chan wrote: > Hello, > > I am planning a trip to Inner Mongolia (within China) this coming > February. > This will be my first time and I don't know what to expect.
