Unfortunately, blurb.com has elected not to use the US Postal Service for their shipping, either domestic or outside the US. Evidently blurb.com wishes to maintain an exclusive relationship with UPS as their shipper. It's not uncommon for US companies to have exclusive shipping arrangements, possibly because the exclusivity gives them better shipping terms, or because the shipper has a financial interest in the organization. I don't know if either--or neither--is the case with blurb.com. However, as a former direct mail guy, I can tell you that it's lousy business to disappoint or turn away customers because of shipping restrictions. When I ran a direct mail catalog, I'd do anything possible to ship around the world to customers. When one shipper posed a problem, I used another option. In short, if clients were paying, I was shipping! Apologies again to the group for this problem. I specifically selected blurb.com because they indicated that they shipped worldwide to most countries on the LUG roster. If I'd known that this silly issue would have held up shipments, I'd have produced the book elsewhere.
