The Telyt 400 &560 f6.8's are very easy to lube. Simply unscrew the lens head, making SURE that you keep track of the spacer that is around the thread. From there, you can reach into the tube from each end, and clean the chrome plated rods with a no-lint cloth, soaked in 99% Isopropyl alcohol, to remove the old grease. Then lube with a light coating of a white lithium grease. I know, Leica probably use something fancier, but I did my 400 this way, as it was quite rough when I bought it, and it's been smooth as silk, ever since. Reassembly is as simple as screwing the lens head back into place, again, making sure the spacer is properly placed around the thread of the lens head. (Alignment is obvious, when you do this.) Makes it easy to clean the inside element, if necessary, too! If you have the 400 & 560 f5.6 w/Televit (trigger) focusing, I'm not sure what you need to do. Sorry.
