Jeffery:

I got a quote of $100 for a CLA of an old Omega I'm buying now from this
nice guy in the USA: http://www.tedsvintagewatches.com/index.htm. May be
higher if you didn't buy from him, but doubtful. Here's also a link for The
National (USA) Assoc. of Watch and Clock Collectors NAWCC members who sell/
repair vintage stuff.

BTW-I used to pay $100 in Houston every 5yrs. too for a Rolex Sub--that
didn't ever keep accurate time over 35 yrs. I finally sold it for $3,000
over what I paid for it.

Here in Singapore - it costs SGD500 (US$323 - for a simple
service

I inherited a lady's gold Rolex watch from my father (he was into
timepieces). I took it in to be CLA'd. The price? $800. At prices like that,
Rolex watchmaking skills won't die out. ;-)

tangential to the world of mechanical cameras, the near death and then
rebirth of the mechanical timepeice is an interesting story. this
article discusses a specific training program to ensure that watchmaking
skills don't die out with the last of the old timers.
